General Mitchell International Airport (IATA: MKE) is a county-owned public airport located five miles (8 km) south of the central business district of Milwaukee, a city in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The airport is a hub for AirTran Airways, and Frontier Airlines.

The original airfield was established in 1920 as Hamilton Airport by business owner Thomas Hamilton. Milwaukee County purchased the land on October 19, 1926, for the Milwaukee County Airport. On January 4, 1945, Mitchell Field was leased to the War Department for use as a World War II prisoner-of-war camp.
